P.D. JogoleProblems We Tackle Every Day.
War Victims
The problem of war victims; these are many within the areas where we work, at FRDC we have worked on over 2000 people with war related injuries or deformities and there are very many people out there who still need help our challenge has been funds to provide the necessary treatments and surgeries needed.
Child Rights Abuses
The government of Uganda works so hard to bring vaccines to people especially to children who most need it but the parents are at times stubborn leading to physical disabilities due to diseases like polio, this goes against the rights of children so FRDC creates awareness in parents through our educational programs.
Bad Cultural Practices
Issues of bad cultural practices like death penalty for physically deformed children at the hands of traditional birth attendants, isolating deformed children and nick naming them wizards (Ajok) is rampant, our corrective surgeries chemotherapies and physiotherapy are examples to the communities that not all is lost.
Lack of Literacy Skills
Our Functional adult literacy classes will take care of this as it will also involve youth and children who have dropped out of school in lower primary, before they realise it some of them will be back at school with the help of UPE and donors, hence improving education levels.
Marginalisation of Vulnerable Groups
Marginalisation of women and girl children, and other vulnerable groups like people with disabilities in Uganda, in access to education and property rights, our advocacy programs handle this.
Poor Hygiene and Health
Prevalence of HIV&AIDS, Malaria and other tropical diseases like polio. Our advocacy program will also handle this problem plus the Functional literacy classes that will also help us teach people basic health to help minimise disease spread.
